Route 66 Author Jim Hinkley

Jim Hinckley currently resides in Kingman, Arizona, the proclaimed “Heart of Historic Route 66", with his wife of more than thirty years, Judy, an ancient cat, and Barney the wonder truck, a well worn 1968 Dodge Adventurer.

Jim is a former Associate editor for Cars & Parts magazine and is the author of more than one dozen books including Backroads of Arizona, Ghost Towns of the Southwest, Checker Cab Manufacturing Company Illustrated History, The Big Book of Car Culture, Route 66 Backroads, Ghost Towns of Route 66, The Route 66 Encyclopedia, and the Illustrated Route 66 Historic Atlas as well as hundreds of feature articles.
